About Me

Hi, I’m Panos — a bass player, collaborator, and musical explorer living in the North of England.

I was born and raised in Greece, studied classical composition, and somehow ended up with my fingers in all kinds of musical pies. Over the years, I’ve played everything from jazz to electronic pop, surf rock to experimental noise. I’ve performed original compositions, supported hip-hop MCs, and even tackled classical works written for electric bass.

I don’t play music for a living — I play it because I love it. Music isn’t how I pay my bills; it’s how I stay sane. I teach music at the University of Leeds, and most of the money I make from gigs or projects goes right back into the music or gets shared with my bandmates. I try to keep it that way. It helps me stay curious, open, and free to try new things.

What I Play

My main instrument is the electric bass — fretted, fretless, synthy, clean, gritty, whatever the project needs. I also play lap guitar and a few less common instruments like the Vietnamese đàn nguyệt. I like messing with pedals and textures, layering things with vocoders, delays, loopers, and other bits of sonic mischief. If there’s a sound that can serve the music, I’m probably interested in finding it.

What I Believe In

I believe in being versatile. I believe in collaboration over competition. I believe in showing up, playing with intention, and listening deeply — whether it’s a noisy improv session in a warehouse or a pocket groove at a brewery.

Most of all, I believe music should feel good — to make, and to hear.

This website is a home for the projects I’m involved in, the music I’ve made, and the people I make it with. You can find info on my bands, hear recordings, and get in touch if you’d like to work together or come see a gig.

Thanks for stopping by.
